We live just down the street from Jacques Torres in Dumbo, and when I saw the title, I was hoping you'd say these were the best:). My husband loves them! (I love the smell, but am allergic to chocolate;).)
I've done a bit of a NYC cookie taste test and I think Levain Bakery on the Upper West Side has the best chocolate chip cookies actually!http://www.levainbakery.com/

Oh my. Not the best thing to see after you've just had an unpleasant experience on the (lying) scale :) But I'm totally pinning it and making them this weekend.
Until I moved to L.A., I worked right across the street from Jacques at the Penguin office! They are hands down the best cookies. And, if you go in there for coffee, they'll put a shot of their unbelievable European style hot chocolate in there for you--it's amazing.
Oh man, they sure DO make the best cookies! I've bought the mix from the store and made it at home before, but I love having the recipe now! Thanks for sharing!
I have always been a fan of the regular Tolhouse recipe. This recipe look's very similar to Tolhouse's...only better!!

These look absolutely delicious! We love your preferences in cookies! We'd have to agree with all of them. Especially leaving the nuts out. We might have to up the chocolate to cookie ratio...
LOVE these cookies. Putting them in the fridge overnight really does make them much more delicious....
I am making these IMMEDIATELY!
I used to live right by Jacques Torres in Brooklyn and while their spicy hot chocolate is wonderful, Levain Bakery on the Upper West Side takes the cake! I dream about Levain cookies and even now, living on the opposite side of the country, I have Levain cookies shipped to my house just so I can taste a little bit of heaven every now and then :)
made these today.....amazinnnng
I'm frequently inspired by recipes online (who isn't?!) but this one actually moved from an inspirational bookmark to reality. I bought the special ingredients and everything. Now it's all I can do to wait the recommended 24 hours before baking!
