Have a great weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? My dad is coming to visit, and Toby is super excited to show off his violin. (He's been practicing:) Tomorrow I'm also volunteering at a city school, whose arts program has been completely cut, to talk to kids about blogging as a career. We're doing a craft project, where they'll cut out magazine photos and quotes to create their own "blog" on paper. Looking forward to it. Have a great weekend, and here are some fun links from around the web...

Would you drink a kale, spinach or arugula cocktail?

My relationship with my mom, then and now.

How to poach an egg in the microwave.

Love these earrings.

Did you catch the obscure 30 Rock reference on Mad Men?

How cute are these teeny swimsuits??

Potato chip mac n' cheese.

How to go on a date.

Visiting a museum with a cranky 12-year-old.

Girl's night out. Made me laugh.

Rad shelf for your house.

Dangerous discovery: You can order these AMAZING chocolate bars by the dozen.

Google has hidden rooms.

Good news: If you're doing spring shopping, everything at J.Crew is 25% off this weekend.

And speaking of calming your mind...

Hi Joanna!

What is the name of the school or program where you're volunteering? I would love to learn more about that!

Thanks!

I'm a violin teacher, have been playing for 21 years. Keep that kid on a good practice schedule and he will be a great violinist! Good luck with the under served program, I'm lucky to live in Texas where that kind of thing is not a big issue, most to all kids get music education.

Creating their own paper blog would be such a fun project, I think!

Lindt's Touch of Sea Salt is one of my favorite brands. And the bike shelf looks cool.

I still kick it old school with "blogging on paper"...aka scrapbooking.

I have a recipe for Arugula shooters - it is incredibly good!!
Blend
- 2 cups arugula
- 1 cup ginger ale
- 2 cups lemon sorbet (dairy free!)
- maybe a little vodka ;)

You have to try this!

That is a terrific idea! Would you be interested in writing a blog post about Blogging as a career? I am really interested in the possibility but have no clue how or where to begin.

You are an inspiration.

Always makes me so sad when schools think arts programs are 'expendable'. How much they don't understand about the development of the mind. Have fun!!!
